Thanks for your comments
Thank you all for you great comments about my site both here and on facebook. Please feel free to contact me here or ask any questions about History Detectives, art, antiques, research etc. It is always fun to hear from other people who have the same passions.
In Baltimore this weekend visiting my family with my two sons. They are very happy to be here as always. Forty family members had lunch together today and one of the waitress was crying . When I asked her what was wrong her reply was ” Nothing. Just seeing all these children/cousins so happy together makes me cry of joy.” I guess that’s the best complement a family can have!

Elyse,
So glad to find your website. I am a homemaker and mom to my 14 and 9 year olds. My 14 year old son is passionate about all things history, and History Detectives is his favortie show. We catch it every chance we get on our local PBS station, and his first item on his Christmas list were DVDs of the show. His dad and I complied! One time he was asked what famous person he would like to meet, while other kids listed sports heroes and rock stars, he listed you, Tukufu, Les, and Gwendolyn. Keep up the great work of bringing history alive to each generation. God bless and Merry Christmas!
Family and close friends are the real treasures of life. With all the small historical objects I have gathered along the way in my sixty plus years, none are as valuable as the people and memories!
Elyse: I love what you do. I need your advice and help. I got a MA with historic preseration/cultural resource management three years ago. I am looking for contract work. Have had one paid contract work in three years. My question is: (1)If an organization, individual, township should contact me to do research on any type of antiquity?what would be my pattern of research to return back the finished report? (2)Do I charge gas mileage from my home to do all research places; what if I have to get help from someone that specializes in the object if I cannot find info..is that a charge to the person hiring me to find out? (3)Is it better for me to charge for the entire project plus mileage and expenses or hourly plus any expenses..and have the pressure? Your reply would be graciously appreciated.
I would like to say keep up the great work .I love exploring history my favorite is the 13 colonies that started this great nation .my quote about history is it shows where you have been and where you can go

Hello, I have a antique cardtable.. And I can’t find anything on it. Could U help me?
Thank-you, Richard
I am an avid lover of history and enjoy the work that you and the History Detectives team do. It make history that more interesting.
Keep up the good work and thank you.
I noticed the ring you wear while I watched you on History Detectives. It looks like it has a cameo on it in gold and black. Is it an antique? It is unusual and unique.
BTW I love History Detectives.
I have a Charlie brown statue–it is 60 years old.
It is a hard plastic material toy.
I am kinda of interested in the price of it.
I seen you on NAte’s show.

Hi Elyse: We were briefly in Ketchum to visit the family over Christmas but had no chance to contact Al and Leslie. A French director had contacted me regarding a documentary about the artists, writers, poets, and musicians during the Holocaust, and I intended to ask Al if he thought you might know people who would be interested in this project. It will be produced by Michel Rotman. Among his productions is Einsatzgruppen: The Death Brigades.
I’m always particularly interested by projects related to art, so thought I’d send you an email. Regards, Bruce & Anndel Smith
Is it clean and is the color still exciting? Things like that are evidence the fact that craftsmanship of the item was huge. But, keep in mind this older veneer is thicker than rather than as even as the veneers the thing is that on furniture today.
I have an amberina glassware collection. I would like information on the value and possible sale of it. Help!
Elyse, I have followed the link to the Nate show, but i can not find a section dedicated to you or a place to upload the painting i own. I have posted it on my facebook. If you have time, i will post a link here. thank you.
