“There is the history we learn about in school and then there is the history that we personally connect to. Everybody has a history. History is important because it gives us an understanding of who we are as a people and as individuals, of where we have come from, why we do the things we do, why we believe the things we believe.” (Jared Olar)
A good object does just that, it teaches us something about our past and brings us some type of joy and understanding about today.”
Greetings and welcome to my website. I am an appraiser and historian of popular culture. The first time I was spellbound by a historical subject was my first semester at Tulane University in New Orleans. I was studying architecture in the French Quarter and became fascinated by one of the grand old houses. Soon I was spending all my time researching the home’s architecture, former owners, and even the furnishings. Eventually my interest turned to objects and how they reflect people’s passions for the past.
